The mission of the Mountain View Church of Christ in Las Vegas, New Mexico is to glorify God and to make disciples, teaching them to obey everything Jesus has commanded. (Matthew 28:19,20) We are a congregation of believers in Jesus Christ. We are a body that is patterned after the Church found in the New Testament, established on the Day of Pentecost, 30 AD. (Acts 2) and we accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God. As a Congregation, we believe that the only name that God has given for His people to wear is "Christian" and we wear no other name. Just as a bride takes the name of her husband so does the Church, being the bride of Christ, take the name of Christ.

 

This is a bilingual congregation (English/Spanish) that was organized in 1956 and has faithfully taught and practiced the terms of salvation and church membership as found in the New Testament and proclaimed by the Apostles of Jesus Christ. The Apostles taught that one must: 1. Hear the Gospel (Romans 10:17); 2. Believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God (Acts 8:37; 16:31); 3. Repent of his sins (Acts 2:38; 17:30); 4. Confess his faith in Jesus as the Christ (Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:10); 5. Be baptized into Christ, by immersion in water, for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38; 22:16); 6. Live a righteous life before God and man unto death (I Peter 1:14-16; Revelation 2: 10).

 

The Church practices the observance of the Lord's Supper every Lord's Day, and urges all faithful believers in Christ to obey this command of the Lord. We also practice the giving of offerings every Lord's Day. In matters of government, this congregation is completely autonomous. Scripturally qualified men direct the spiritual and business affairs of the church.

We invite all obedient believers in Jesus Christ and all who are tired of the man made divisions and strife's to join us in uniting on the New Testament way of salvation and Christian living, looking to the Holy Spirit to lead us and completely surrendering to His leading.
